Celebrate 30 Years of Midnight Marauders
This Month Marks Midnight Marauders' 30th Year Anniversary
30 years ago, A Tribe Called Quest released one of Hip-Hop’s most highly regarded and widely listened albums of all-time, Midnight Marauders. Although The Low End Theory, People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm, and We Got It from Here… Thank You 4 Your Service were also impressive accomplishments, the legacy of their third studio album was unique. The album would go on to embed its place as one of Hip-Hop’s crowning moments.
Bulletproof Soul’s Grasping Things at the Root paid its own respects to the timeless A Tribe Called Quest album with an album cover influenced by a similar aesthetic. Though loose inspiration, with the 30th anniversary of the album in mind this year, the Bulletproof Soul collective decided to pay homage to one of Hip-Hop’s cultural apexes. This only felt natural for Grasping Things at the Root and Bulletproof Soul, having a focus on art culture and community concepts.
You can celebrate the 30th anniversary of Midnight Marauders by visiting A Tribe Called Quest’s website where they are currently offering a range of merch. You can enjoy all A Tribe Called Quest albums on streaming currently, as well as Bulletproof Soul’s Grasping Things at the Root.
