The alternatives to Twitter arenāt exactly thriving. Instagram Threads monthly user count has reached 160 million monthly users. While that may seem like a lot, and it is, it still pales in comparison to Twitterās 335 million monthly users. Considering numbers, it serves any movement to create content on both platforms. However, upon some thinking we decided that whatās happening on Twitter isnāt acceptable considering our efforts to be a place of healthy art and entertainment culture.
Since Elon Muskās takeover, hate speech has been on the rise on the platform. The downfall of āfreedom of speechā rhetoric Elon Musk pushed and depleting his staff is that there is no staff in place to remove hate speech. No one wants to be on a platform with bigoted weirdos. Similarly, no one wants to pay to be on a platform with weirdo discussions.
Now, in order to have āfree speechā you have to pay to have engagement, there are stricter follow limits enacted now, and it is a much more difficult platform to grow on. So why would we return to our activity on the platform?
With the most active users of any platform still, it makes it all the more important to have rational voices on the app, and to not cede educational ground to what can only be described as embarrassing Ian Miles Cheong-style misinformation propagandists or misogynist, hateful cucks like SNEAKO.
With boycotts on the rise, we ask ourselves the question why did Elon Musk buy this platform that has tanked in value? Some theorize due to Elon Muskās history as a union buster that he bought the platform in a plot to destroy the internetās most powerful tool to organize unions and labor rights. Whether or not this is the case, it feels all too important to keep our class-conscious and culturally diverse safe space on the app with the name of a gay porn site. Kudos on the name champ! Gays, itās your turn to organize. You know what to do! Anywho, feel free to keep up with us on Twitter.
